This zine features writing and artwork by incarcerated people and members of the WVU Higher Education in Prison Initiative.
In fall of 2025, the Humanities Center at West Virginia University launched a speaker series with “hope” as its grounding theme. The Higher Education in Prison Initiative mentioned the hope series to some of the students at SCI Greene and asked if they might be interested in creating materials to contribute to that ongoing campus conversation. What follows are the poems, essays, and artwork students created in response.
